SAS Air Suspension stands for more than just smoother rides – it represents a legacy of innovation, craftsmanship, and connection between two continents. Originally developed in Las Vegas, USA, by Butch and Lynne Yaple of Custom Cycle Control Systems, SAS pioneered the world’s first and only internal compressor air suspension system. No compressors. No hoses. No fittings. Just a simplified, plug-and-play setup that delivers unmatched performance and reliability.
Adam Brown, founder of Brown Industries in Australia, first connected with Butch and Lynne through a shared passion for Harley-Davidsons and innovation in ride quality. Over time, that professional connection became personal, with Adam visiting their Las Vegas workshop multiple times and forming a close bond.
When Butch passed away, he entrusted Adam with continuing the SAS legacy. Without a successor of their own, the Yaples wanted to ensure the system they built with such care and precision would live on in the hands of someone who truly understood its value to their customers – both as a mechanic and a rider.
Today, SAS remains proudly rooted in its American origins. The heart of every SAS system – the patented internal compressor – is still manufactured in the original US factory. In addition, a second facility was established in Australia expanding its capabilities to meet global demand while upholding its core standards of precision and performance. Under Adam’s leadership, the system has undergone significant research and development, resulting in key improvements that make the current SAS kit better than ever.
SAS remains committed to producing the highest quality, best-performing air suspension system on the market whilst maintaining the high standards set by its US roots, continuing to deliver the reliability, performance, and feel you expect and deserve.
Brown Industries is a trusted name in Harley-Davidson performance and customisation, with a focus on rider-first solutions and in-house parts development. Bringing SAS under the Brown Industries roof has allowed us to expand its reach globally – while staying true to the craftsmanship and mechanical insight that made it legendary in the first place.
